Balazs Botond has had substantial success in online poker, having earned more than $1,300,000. He is considered as one of the top players in Hungary and has cashed some pretty major live tournaments, the most notable being a 4th place finish at the EPT Campione in Italy for €157,000 in March 2012. Italy turned out to be a great place to play poker for Balazs, who went on to take down the €330 ‘Antes only’ event for a slick €10,500. His resume also includes a fifth place finish in a $1,500 WCOOP Event with a paycheck of $30,000 in 2011, and a $162 buy-in Six-Max online tourney for $27,100.
Balazs took up poker in 2009, but turned pro only 6 months after that. He had been working at a department store in Budapest at the time, but soon decided to quit to play poker full time. He made his first cash on June 18th 2009 at the WSOP $2,000 No Limit Hold’em Event in Las Vegas. Since then, he has amassed $475,096 in total winnings from live tournaments.
