Cole South's bio

Cole “CTS” South is an online poker pro from Williamsburg, Virginia. He has millions in reported winnings from nose bleed cash games and has thereby trampled the online arena. To add to his incredible achievements in poker, Cole has also been a successful entrepreneur and author, accomplishing both feats while studying as an undergraduate at Georgetown University. He is a regular at the largest online cash games across the internet, playing against the likes of Phil Ivey, Patrick Antonious, Victor “Isildur1” Blom, and Illari “Zigmund” Sahamies. With swings surpassing the 7 figure mark, Cole is no stranger to the ups and downs of poker, and has provided extensive mapping of his mental framework approach to the game with numerous poker articles, training videos, and books.

After having deposited $50 onto the online poker site Party Poker in the fall of 2005, he managed to build his bankroll up to $13,000 over the course of one year through proper bankroll management. Cole’s success in online poker launched his $13,000 bankroll into more than $2 million within just two years. By 2008, at the stakes Cole was playing, he would encounter decision-making issues over numerous 6 figure pots. In November of that year, Cole released an elegant poker instructional manual with co-author Tri Nguyen.  The book entitled “Let There Be Range! Crushing SSNL/MSNL No-Limit Hold’em Games”, can be found on Amazon.com for $1,850 a copy.

Cole was an economics major at Georgetown University, with an obvious talent for business. In 2010, while finishing his undergraduate degree, Cardrunner teamed up with Cole to build its poker training site. As a part-owner and instructor, Cole’s videos were some of the most sought after on the web.  His reputation online has made him into a household name in the poker community. Through several epic 7 figure up-and-down swings, Cole won over $2.6 million in a single month and had lost over $1 million in a single session.

Cole South calls Washington D.C. home. He absolutely loves the amazing collection of restaurants, people, and other things the city offers. He is an avid fan of all of the DC sports teams and goes to plenty of games despite years of mediocrity. Some of his favorite DC spots are Makoto, Rasika, BLT Steak, and Shelly’s Back Room.

He is currently exploring his entrepreneurial exploits, through involvement with the popular online hand-tracking software Hold’em Manager, an Online daily fantasy sports draft site, DraftDay.com, and production of the upcoming poker documentary, “Boom”. It is hard to believe how much this young man has achieved in his short life, all the while finding time to travel the world and snowboard. Cole South is truly a role model and trend setter in the poker world. The successive drive of this young player will surely make him an exciting figure to follow for years to come.
