John Eames might be a young poker professional, but he is no Moneymaker boomer. John has grown up among the elites of the game. He has found success on both the virtual and actual felt, accumulating more than $3 million in career earnings. Having found success on the live tournament circuit, John has made many deep runs in EPT and WSOP events over a relatively short period of time.

In 2011 there were still no signs of John slowing down his incredible run. He was continuously dominating the tables, whether they were there to touch or flashing on his screens. He found success early in the year, making a deep run in the Denmark DKr 35,000 EPT main event, coming in 3rd place at a final table crowded with Hold’em specialists, including the likes of Michael Tureniec. John found himself $257,000 richer after that day and went on to pull in $620,000 for the year, thanks to a $136,000 score at an EPT Side Event. As far as a poker career is concerned, John has achieved success that most poker players could only dream of. In 2012 John made 3 cashes in the 43rd annual WSOP in Las Vegas, including an 8thplace at the $1500 Pot Limit Hold’em Event.
John also lends his extensive poker knowledge to training, writing strategy articles and offering tips to aspiring poker players. In his articles John has emphasized staying sharp and he embraces a strategy which is designed to keep his opponents guessing. Other pointers he embraces are to avoid playing a routine game, to switch up your style and to stay aggressive. Not everyone can change their style mid stride, but this skill is an integral component to becoming an accomplished poker pro. John has mastered the tangibles and intangibles of the game of Hold’em. He has hopes of diversifying his poker game by playing a variety of card games. However, John is a Hold’em specialist at heart, with a “let’s go to war” attitude.
