Cole South's Biography
If there was a poster child for bankroll management in poker, Cole South would be your guy. By 2007, Cole had grown his bankroll up to an impressive $2 million and has since been a staple in high-stakes online cash games.
Former part-owner and instructor at CardRunners, Cole’s training videos have long been popular for users wanting to learn the proper strategies needed to grow their bankrolls. He is known for having both an analytical and mathematical mindset when it comes to poker.
“Poker is a game based on mathematics (probability and expectation in particular) and should be treated this way,” wrote Cole on ESPN.com. “Bets, folds, raises, bluffs and all poker decisions should be evaluated solely on their expected value, not because a certain action feels right.”
While primarily a cash game player, Cole has experienced some mild success in live tournaments; specifically at the WSOP Main Event. He finished in the money in both the 2009 and 2010 WSOP Main Events.
In addition to his poker play, Cole has a variety of entrepreneurial interests. He has been involved in one capacity or another with online poker tracking software Hold’em Manager, fantasy sports site DraftDay.com, Terran Marketing as well as helped produce the poker documentary entitled “Bet Raise Fold”.
